A WEST Bathurst man is facing a number of charges after an incident on Monday night in which he was allegedly pursued by police.

Police say the man reached a speed of 150 kilometres an hour in a 50km/hr zone during the pursuit.
Officers from Bathurst Highway Patrol say they saw the unregistered car travelling on Gilmour Street, Kelso at about 11.25pm on Monday, December 28.

The driver is alleged to have failed to stop when directed and police began a pursuit in which it is alleged the car reached a speed of about 150km/hr.
A short time later, according to police, the vehicle stopped in Marsden Lane, where the male driver was arrested.
A female passenger was also in the car, police say.
Police say subsequent checks found the man was prohibited from approaching or contacting the woman due to an apprehended violence order (AVO).
The 45-year-old man was given a roadside drug test, which returned a positive reading for methamphetamines, according to police.
They say the West Bathurst man was arrested and taken to Bathurst Police Station, where he was charged with not stopping during a police pursuit and exceeding the speed limit by more than 45km/hr (estimated), driving a motor vehicle during a disqualification period, and contravening a prohibition/restriction in AVO.
He was granted conditional bail to appear at Bathurst Local Court on Monday, January 25, 2021.
