Rugby Union's filled with a tonne of drive thanks to their victory in BOIDC over Cavaliers before Christmas, earned on the back of a brilliant team performance with the bat.

They'll need another performance like that one as Cavaliers enter the territory where they're defending champions.

The pressure's off both teams, as their previous pool wins over Centennials Bulls guarantee them a place in the quarter finals, but there's still going to be plenty of desire among both camps to enter the knockout stages on a high.

Rugby Union's Jameel Qureshi said it's good to get back into the swing of things with a Twenty20 clash which has a little less pressure on it than a Saturday game.

"I think it might be a good thing to get a bit of cricket under our belts [before BOIDC's return] and come back with this game. Hopefully we're ready to rock and roll when we get out there," he said.

"It was great being able to put that last performance together against Cavaliers and really come together as a team. That was really nice. We were able to see what we were able to do when we apply ourselves.

"There's still a little bit of pressure in the T20 games because you have less margin for error and you have to keep things together with the bat and the ball."

The factor against Rugby this Friday is the massive wait between their two Twenty20 pool matches.

They played in the opening game of the 2020-21 season against Bulls and have had to wait until now to unleash in the short format.

Qureshi said the key on Friday won't be unleashing with the bat but instead sticking to playing solid cricket.

"It's just a matter of doing the small things right, like running between the wickets and being on top of things in the field," he said.

"Those are the things that add up, especially when you're playing Twenty20."

The winner of the match will play Centrals while the loser faces St Pat's in the quarters.
