The Bathurst Tack Box put out a call to its members and local artists late last year to produce a series artworks united by a core theme: horses and hounds.
As a result, the front room of the business has been transformed into a gallery space, and Bathurst Tack Box proprietor Anna Blackburn said the show includes professional and amateur works.
"We're lucky to have so many members who have a passion for art, and their contributions have certainly added plenty of vibrancy to the show," Ms Blackburn said.
"The show incorporates our two favourite things, horses and dogs, and a host of art styles, including painting, sculpture, sketches, prints and photography."
Ms Blackburn said the show also features a host of submissions from school students, with prizes on offer for their input.
"One of our members teaches at Kandos High School, and she has commissioned a project with her students to produce works for the under 18's competition," she said.
"There will be two prizes on offer; packers prize and most popular [on the basis of community votes]; both at a cash prize of $100, which our members have raised through commissions."
Ms Blackburn said the professional works will be up for sale, with 20 per cent commission on each sale price to go towards getting rural shows back up and running.
"It's been a particularly tough year for smaller villages who have had to cancel their show as for many, its their only annual event, so we want to help them out however we can," she said.
"We also have an equine dentist who doubles as a welder, and she's contributing a work that will be the prize in a $20 raffle, with all proceeds to go towards Ronald McDonald House."
"A key passion of our business is to exist as an engaging social enterprise, and this art show also provides an opportunity for the community to come and see what we're all about."
The opening night for the art show will take place at 5pm this Saturday. To register, email bathursttackbox@gmail.com.
