Bathurst Hospital's latest batch of intern doctors are already finding their feet executing numerous roles to assist patients.

Last week, 11 intern doctors commenced placement at the hospital as part of NSW Health's Junior Medical Officer recruitment scheme.
For the next three months, the interns will rotate across various departments, including medical, surgical, emergency, intensive care, pediatrics, and rehabilitation.
Surgery intern Donna Liu, who hails from Sydney, said she's already feeling right at home at Bathurst Hospital.
"The environment is very positive and everyone is friendly and willing to help out," Ms Liu said.
"It's a much smaller hospital to what I'm used to, but the positive of this is you feel more involved and accounted for."
Surgical resident medical officer [RMO] Nilambari Biswas said Bathurst is her first role in Australia since migrating from India three years ago, where she practiced as an ENT [ear, nose and throat] surgeon.
"Even though I've been in the profession for 15 years, it feels like I'm starting from scratch, as there's much to learn," Ms Biswas said.
"Everything here is computerised, which isn't as widespread in India, so this is a big opportunity to expand upon what I've already learned."
Aaron Khoo has commenced placement in the emergency department, which he said never fails to be a busy experience.
"I'm in awe of how effective the doctors are in the ED, they seem superhuman, and I hope to learn a lot from them," Mr Khoo said.
"Bathurst is bigger than I thought it would be, and I look forward to spending the next few months applying my skills."
Piyush Pius has been placed in the orthopaedic surgical department, and said he was motivated to pursue a career in the health sector from a young sector.
"We've never had many doctors in our family and with all the health problems that can arise at any age, I feel it's always handy to have a doctor as a relative," Mr Pius said.
The new recruits are among 1041 interns starting across NSW this year, including 150 who have signed up for the Rural Preferential Recruitment scheme.
