The church will host an hour-long celebration from 10am this Sunday to reflect on their breadth of achievements across the past five years and thank the local community for their support.

Head pastor Gary Blackford, who has recently taken the role alongside his wife, Robyn, said the event is free and open to anyone who wishes to attend.

"The event will honour the church's progression in Bathurst over the years, and will position us to launch into the next chapter," Mr Blackford said.

"There will be a strong party atmosphere [including cake], as well as a jumping castle, and everyone is welcome."

Former head pastors Caleb and Renee Dwyer are still involved with the church's Bathurst base, however their roles have expanded to oversee the church's operations statewide, with Mr Dwyer now an executive pastor.

Ms Dwyer is now the director of The Horizon Project, a charity sponsored by the church facilitating humanitarian operations in southern Asia, notably Nepal.

She said the church has gone from strength to strength in Bathurst over the past five years, especially since the move to their present site nearly two years ago.

"We renovated this site mostly off the back of volunteers and our heart has been to promote this church as a welcoming community hub," Ms Dwyer said.

"We're blessed to have such an incredible group of people continue to back us, and its been an absolute joy to connect with the wider community."

The church has formed a close connection with Vivability through Cafe on Corporation, which provides valuable on-the-job hospitality experience for people with a disability.

"It's been a dream come true for us, and even with the difficulties of COVID-19, the cafe has continued to empower people with a disability to expand their experience in the workforce," Ms Dwyer said.

From a faith perspective, Ms Dwyer said its also been pleasing to see churchgoers discovering more about themselves through a relationship with God.

"It's important to maintain that traditional church culture, however it's essential to interact in a modern way to ensure genuine connections from person to person," she said.

The church has adopted a broad approach to sharing scripture, including effective use of social media, podcasts and live streaming.
