There might be a theme here.
The regional cities are already trying to cope with spreading suburbs, especially Albury, Wagga Wagga, Tamworth, Dubbo, Orange and soon Bathurst.
Is the NSW Government wrong to encourage this further?
Could we aim to have our city better and not bigger?
It would be delightfully different to set the example for a non-crowded city, and maybe keep koala habitats, platypus streams, and green spaces and rivers pristine.
We can strive to make our city and surrounding towns even more joyful places to live.
We are in the position to be this wonderful standard, a considered example of appropriate planning which would pay off for us in spades.
We can change our minds in a few decades if we so choose, but we won't have that choice if we over-populate our city now.
