The annual Country Cruisin' For Can Assist fundraiser will take place on Sunday, April 11, with participants to travel from Rockabilly Cafe to Portland's Kremer Park for a raffle and silent auction.
The event launched in 2019 in honour of the late Ash James, who lost his battle with Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma in 2018 at the age of 37.
"Can Assist supported Ash and us throughout this time with financial support for treatment, car registration, power bills, phone bills and more," Cruise & Shine official and Ash's mum Michele James said.
"We organise this event each year so Can Assist can help other local families experiencing complications from cancer treatment, as well as to honour Ash and his passion for cars."
The event raised $11,500 last year in a COVID-affected staging, and $22,500 the year before, and hope to exceed the $20,000 mark again this year.
Cruise & Shine are calling on local businesses to donate items for the raffle and silent auction, and any monetary donations are appreciated.
