Bathurst mayor Bobby Bourke said it was wonderful to see this event go ahead this year after last year's planned clash between the Panthers and Cronulla Sharks was cancelled.
"The game brings plenty of people to our city, and it plays a key part in showcasing the capabilities of our region hosting major events," he said.
ALSO MAKING NEWS:
"This match will be keenly contested and full of excitement. Rugby league fans are in for a great afternoon of football."
The game will be played on Saturday, May 1 at 3pm.
Pre-sale tickets will be available from 10am this Friday, March 19. Council will offer three tiers of pricing to encourage early ticket sales.
Tickets are available via Ticketek and through BathurstNRL.com.au.
