Western NSW Local District confirmed on Monday that the vaccine rollout would begin in Bathurst next Tuesday, March 23, with frontline health workers and aged care home residents to be at the front of the queue.
More than 1000 general practices, Aboriginal Controlled Community Health Services, and GP-led respiratory clinics across Australia have joined the vaccination rollout for Phase 1b.
Included in the first week of the rollout arr Bathurst's Loxley House Family Practice, Westpoint Medical Practice, Kelso Medical Centre and the Bathurst Respiratory Clinic on the grounds of Charles Sturt University, with other local clinics to be given access to the vaccine in the weeks to follow.
The Western Advocate has been told the George Street Medical Centre will have access to the vaccine from March 29 and Busby and Russell Street centres a week later.
Residents are asked to contact their existing medical centre for advice on when they will have access to the vaccine.

People eligible for the jab under phase 1a include quarantine and border workers, frontline healthcare workers, and aged and disability care staff and residents.
Western NSW Local Health chief executive District Scott McLachlan says clinics will be established at Dubbo, Orange and Bathurst hospitals next week, where staff working in emergency departments and intensive care units will be vaccinated.
He said two mobile clinics would visit smaller health facilities in the region from Monday. Aged care residents living in multipurpose service facilities fall under phase 1a.
"The vaccination requires two injections at least 12 weeks apart so those clinics will be booking staff in for both their appointments," he said.
"Our clinics will be providing the Oxford/AstraZeneca vaccine. Both the current vaccines are very effective and Oxford/AstraZeneca offers advantages for our district given the challenges of distance.
"I would encourage people to use the Australian Government's online eligibility checker to see when and how they can access vaccination."
