BATHURST is waking to another morning of moderate flooding but conditions are expected to improve throughout Wednesday.

The Hereford Street low-level bridge remains closed to all traffic following renewed rises along the Macquarie River overnight.
An SES flood bulletin published this morning said river level peaks had been observed at locations upstream of Bathurst but rainfall had now eased across the region and there was no significant rainfall forecast for Wednesday.
"The Macquarie River at Bathurst is expected to peak near 5.00 metres around 7am Wednesday, with moderate flooding," the flood bulletin stated.
The Macquarie River was at 6.62m and steady at White Rock at 3.43am on Wednesday and 4.8m and rising at Bathurst.
The Gordon Edgell Bridge on Hereford Street remains closed and drivers are urged to monitor road conditions as other local roads are likely to close through the day.

The SES advises that people:
- Stay up to date with information. Listen to flood warnings and follow advice on how to protect yourself, family, and property.
- Do not allow children to play in floodwaters, especially stormwater drains and creeks.
- Monitor conditions. Should flooding develop, ensure you can leave the area safely if conditions deteriorate.
- People working or camping along the Macquarie River and creeks within the Bathurst and Kelso low-lying area and should relocate to higher ground.
- Farmers and landholders are advised to relocate livestock, stock feed, chemical and farm equipment to higher ground. Do not wait until the flood peak approaches.
- Motorists are advised to take extreme care as water will be flowing across causeways and local roads.
- Motorists are reminded that debris such as mud, rocks, tree branches ae likely to be across roadways which were affected by flood waters. Please use caution when travelling along these areas.
- Do not drive through floodwater as floodwaters may be deep, fast-flowing and contain debris and are a major cause of flood-related deaths.
