The closure of the low level bridge this week should be a wake-up call for Bathurst Regional Council.
A new bridge would be expensive, but do we really need to spend $4.5 million on a go-kart track or install a roundabout in the middle of Hereford Street?
Perhaps the money would be better spent as a contribution to a new bridge, making life easier for many Bathurst ratepayers.
