The Blue team, which also featured Lithgow product Maggie Thompson, suffered an 8-1 loss on Tuesday afternoon to the inform Queensland Maroon, with the result sealing top spot in pool B for Queensland.
Schmidt was full of praise for the two Bathurst juniors after the match.
"The improvement in Tay-Tay and Maggie has been unbelievable," she said.

"With Macey, I've always seen that ability in her. I've always known she's had that ability to go forward and the grunt that she has.
"The two girls in the back [Brabham and Thompson] improvement has been absolutely sensational, from the time of the trials to now. I can't fault them for effort levels and work rate."
Even though NSW Blue lost by seven goals, Schmidt said there was plenty of positives to take out the game.
"Ultimately, if we take out our second quarter where Queensland got us through the centre where the goals from, it was quite a good State of Origin," she said.
"There's a lot of positives we can take out of that. We changed the back four to a back five and they did that quite well, so we take out those positives.
"We'll look at our AMs, their work rates and everything as well."
NSW Blue's only win in the championships so far came on the opening against Tasmania 5-0 on Friday.
Since then, NSW Blue went on to lose to WA Black on the same day, before a loss to Victoria 3-1 on Saturday.
Sunday's 1-all draw against South Australia was the last point NSW Blue picked up, with the team finishing fifth in its group.
NSW Blue will now enter a play-off series for ninth spot, with the semi-finals on Wednesday and the final on Thursday.
