Retired Bishop Richard Hurford said eight members of the the Society of Bathurst Bellringers would complete a 15-minute "muffled peal" of the bells from 2pm to honour the late Duke of Edinburgh.
"We will be ringing the bells in solidarity with belltowers right around the Commonwealth," Bishop Hurford said.
ALSO MAKING NEWS:
He encouraged people to take in both the sombre sound of the muffled bells and also the spectacle of the bellringers in action.
"If people stand in Kings Parade near the War Memorial Carillon and look back towards All Saints' Cathedral they will be able to see the bellringers on the first floor of the building through the glass panels," Bishop Hurford said.
"The bells are also visible at the top of the tower and you can see the giant wheels turning as the bells ring."
Prince Philip, the husband of Queen Elizabeth II, died last Friday aged 99.
His funeral will be held inside St George's Chapel in the grounds of Windsor Castle on Saturday afternoon, London time.
