I had the delight of seeing a row of vintage cars parked along the heritage sandstone fence line of the Hydro Majestic at Medlow Bath on the weekend.
With the proposed widening of the Great Western Highway, this will no longer be possible.
We need to act now to save Medlow Bath from being a treeless, bitumen drag strip past one of the most iconic heritage sites in the Blue Mountains.

The proposed plans include further tree removal, a giant ugly pedestrian overpass with lifts and roadway from railway to the Hydro fence.
Gone will be the quaint, historic little village of Medlow Bath forever.
A tunnel under Medlow Bath, from Katoomba to Hartley, would address the pressing needs of the people of the Central West, provide an end to the current traffic crawl, it would provide a beautiful tourist drive through the upper mountain villages and be a gift for future generations.
The current proposed highway plans are environmental and cultural vandalism. Its time for a rethink!
