I fully support the proposed tunnel being extended to under Medlow Bath.
I understand that a tunnel would be a more expensive option, but the damage a four-lane road would do to the already narrow strip in Medlow Bath would be devastating.
I think the section between the train line and Hydro Majestic would serve the residents and tourism if it was revitalised as a tourist point of interest. Extending the tunnel to under this area would make it possible as only local traffic would be coming through.
OTHER RECENT LETTERS:
Frankly, I don't understand why this wasn't considered earlier.
Medlow Bath is the only town where you can see the magnificent Blue Mountains cliffs right from the road. The sunsets there are majestic. A four-lane road would further alienate this location.
The current situation with weekend travellers stacked up in one direction or the other is already causing a lot of problems.
Diverting the through traffic via a tunnel would be the best solution.
