The workshop at Tremain's Mill is part of a series of workshops being held in Bathurst and Lithgow.
The initiative is presented by Varuna and is supported by Create NSW.
Varuna's creative director, Amy Sambrooke, hopes more workshops will be able to be held in future.
"We are really pleased to offer local writers the chance to meet with exceptional Australian writers in person, and to benefit from finding out about their practices and practical tips," she said.
"It's a short program, with limited participation, so we are hopeful that it will be something we can do more regularly in the future."
