Over 800 students from Bathurst, Blayney, Lithgow and Portland are undertaking the Rotary Youth Driver Awareness (RYDA) over the next few days.
The specialised course is designed to increase road safety awareness amongst 16 to 18 years olds. Throughout the interactive one-day experience, young drivers experience braking at varying speeds, get expert tips from road safety professionals and learn how to protect themselves and their friends.
Chris Bennett, from Bathurst Rotary, said students cover three different courses in the day-long program; including driver awareness, speed and stopping and mind matters.
