Mr Fox, located in the historic Webb and Co building opposite Machattie Park, is the brainchild of business partners Cecilia Hunt and Tanya Davison.
The idea for a private function space in Bathurst was born from personal loss. Ms Hunt recently lost her mother-in-law and found it very challenging to find a private space to host an intimate celebration of her life, and in doing so identified a gap in the local market.
She spoke about the struggle with Ms Davison, and the idea for Mr Fox emerged.
The two women are utilising their own professional strengths in opening the business: Ms Hunt has a background in management across a range of sectors, while Ms Davison has 15 years' experience managing a licensed restaurant and bar in Cronulla.
Ms Hunt said Mr Fox will provide the city with an intimate luxury event venue, tucked away in the historic Webb Chambers.
"The space is reminiscent of another time, with a sense of history and grandeur," she said.
She said the inspiration for the styling of Mr Fox came from the building itself.
"We just adore the architecture of the Webb and Co Building and wanted to celebrate its heritage."

By adding some unique features, such as antique chandeliers and vintage wallpaper, they have brought the space alive.

"We wanted to create a vibe reminiscent of an early 1920s speakeasy venue with a modern twist," she said.
Ms Hunt said Mr Fox is essentially an intimate function and event space for special occasions such as birthdays, engagements and small weddings.
She said people can expect a gorgeous venue with a private deck central to town in one of the city's oldest buildings.
"We offer a select range of high quality beers, wines and wholesome finger foods," she said.
The pair have also opened up the space for Fox Den Fridays, from 5pm Fridays.
"We have had a huge interest from the public to come in and have a drink and enjoy the beautiful ambience and beautiful venue," Ms Hunt said.
