The two blues went through the entirety of 2020's season without a win to their name but they've managed to already avoid that fate this time around, and now they're setting their sights on more success.
It was one impressive way to end their long wait for victory last Saturday - a 3-2 score away to Parkes United - and Souths captain Tahni Isedale said it's great to see the club achieving the goals they put forward.
"It's a long time coming for us. We hadn't won for a while so it's great to get that first one for the season and the girls were pretty pumped about it," she said.
"It's good in particular to get the win away from home after a tough trip to Parkes.
"We broke that game down into quarters and our goal was to win each quarter. It helped us reset after each break. I thought that helped us, and while we didn't win every quarter we won most of them and that led to us winning the game.
"We've changed things up a little bit. While some things are the same we've changed our approach in attack, we're trying to use our space and make the ball do the work."
Souths were unfortunate not to have won before the latest round, having gone down by just a goal in the first game of the season against Orange United then picking up draws against St Pat's and Ex-Services.
Their upcoming opponents have had a much more inconsistent start to their season, finding two wins and two losses across the opening month of play but showing a lot of potential.
However, CYMS were outclassed to the tune of 4-0 in their meeting against St Pat's last weekend.
Isedale said it always pays to be alert of a team who comes into a game off a heavy defeat.
"Any team coming off a 4-0 loss would be super keen to put that behind them," she said.
"We haven't played on that bottom turf at Orange since it's been resurfaced so that will be a new experience for us. We're not sure what that will be like."
Emma White comes back into the Souths squad this Saturday.
Her presence will certainly be appreciated considering the Bathurst women will be without Sarah Watterson or Ali Stanford for the Orange trip, and Isedale expects the side to step up.
"Obviously with both Ali and Sarah playing up front that gives other girls an opportunity. In saying that, the people stepping into those positions have been playing there this year so they're very capable," she said.
"We've got a couple of young girls coming off the bench and it will be great to give them a run."
The match gets underway from 3.10pm in Orange.
