St Stanislaus' College teacher Michael Pugh will be one of the eight stars busting a move and, having battled cancer himself, the cause is a special one.
"It's very close to me. I've had treatments, I'll probably never get rid of it but I feel fit and healthy," Mr Pugh said.
Each local star is allocated a dance teacher who they learn from and develop a routine with.
"I'm very lucky to have got Natalie Fenlon from Pure Imagination Performing Arts [PIPA]," Mr Pugh said.

With the routine going for four and a half minutes, PIPA owner Ms Fenlon is proud of how far her 'star' has come in six weeks.
"Michael has never danced before so he's definitely come a long way. He's doing a great job remembering all the dance moves," she said.
With Mr Pugh turning to music during his cancer treatments, Ms Fenlon wanted to incorporate this into the routine.
"He would listen to music to help him relax and the fist song that we picked was the one he'd listen to and we finish on a nice note with Lady Gaga," Ms Fenlon said.
Ms Fenlon has been a dance teacher for 17 years with this year's Dancing With The Stars the fourth event she's been involved in.
"Originally the cancer council asked us if we'd like to be involved and we love performing and helping charities so we said yes straight away," she said.
Each star competing must raise a minimum of $2500, with Mr Pugh having almost raised double that.
