The funeral will be at the Cathedral of St Michael and St John from 11.30am but numbers will be limited inside the church on a first-in-best-dressed basis for anyone not on the list of about 100 family and close friends. The cathedral can seat 325 people.
Mr Turnbull, a former champion trainer-driver and the patriarch of The Lagoon's Turnbull harness racing family, died at the weekend, aged 91.
The Turnbull family has invited any harness racing participants to wear their racing silks and form a guard of honour as the hearse leaves the cathedral on Friday.
The burial will take place at Bathurst's Maranatha Lawn Cemetery with a wake at the harness racing club.
