Based on motor insurance claims in the last 24 months, the data shows the most frequent locations for collisions across NSW with Bathurst ranking 49th on the list.
NRMA Insurance did not disclose the exact number of accidents on roads and Bathurst's overall ranking is not restricted to regional areas, with all metropolitan suburbs and Sydney's CBD also included.
Sydney's CBD topped the list with Blacktown, Bankstown, Liverpool and Port Macquarie rounding out the top five, while Bathurst's ranking fared well compared to Orange, which was 17th on the list.
Bathurst ranked higher on the list for the number of accidents involving drivers between the age of 71 and 74, sitting 30th in that category, which the data shows account for at least eight per cent of all accidents across NSW.
Port Macquarie topped that category, which also featured Dubbo at seventh and Orange at rank 13.
In terms of collisions involving drivers under 25, which the data shows accounts for at least nine per cent of all accidents, Bathurst ranked 55th while Orange once again was higher at 23rd.
NRMA Insurance executive general manager of claims Luke Gallagher urged all drivers to show extra caution on the roads, hoping the latest data would provide a timely reminder of the importance of road safety.
"Regardless of your age or driving experience, safety must be the number one priority for all of us when we get behind the wheel," Mr Gallagher said.
"Our data shows us these accidents are happening in busy areas like Sydney (but) it's an important reminder that when you're driving in ... high-traffic areas in the suburbs or even regional towns, accidents can happen anywhere at anytime.
"Drivers need to slow down and put safety first, and remind their family and friends to do the same."
The data shows the most common time for collisions is during the late morning between 10am and 12pm and the afternoon between 1pm and 5pm, peaking at around 3pm.
"Be extra alert at some of the most common accident spots such as major intersections, vehicles merging lanes and during the busy peak hours in the morning and afternoon," Mr Gallagher added.
