A cold change that started moving through Bathurst on Tuesday afternoon is expected to bring severe weather over the entire region on Wednesday and Thursday.
A sheep graziers' alert is now in place with landholders warned of potential stock losses due to cold temperatures, rain and possible small hail and snow across much of the state.

The Bureau of Meteorology's Meteye website predicts snow will begin falling to the south and east of Bathurst about 4am on Wednesday with the footprint growing throughout the morning.
By lunchtime we can expect to significant snow on high ground to the west of Bathurst around Blayney and Orange, to the south around Oberon and Jenolan Caves, and to the east around Yetholme.
The bureau says a cold front is likely to bring snow above 900 metres on Wednesday and above 1000 metres on Thursday.
Bathurst is now forecast to see a top of just six degrees Celsius on Wednesday and Thursday, with up to 15 millimetres of rain to fall across the region on both days.
Conditions will ease slightly for the weekend with cloudy days bringing a forecast top of 11 on Saturday and 14 on Sunday,
