Five locals - Peter Ward, Graham Ward, Richie Farrar, Tony Wise and Carmel Mifsud - are planning to take part in the six-day event to raise money for Kidney Health Australia's annual Kidney Kids Camp and youth programs.
"There's been a fair bit of money raised already for the Kidney Kids," Peter Ward said.
"This is our 18th year, we've been going since 2003, it's a very important cause to us.
"The more you do it the more you find out how many people do suffer from kidney disease and how many people are affected by kidney disease, either themselves or someone in their family has it."

Fifty-two rally cars are set to begin in Mudgee and head through Meadow Flat, Lithgow, Oberon, Cowra, Adavale Lane, West Wyalong, Hay, Finley and Narrandera on their way to Young.
Locals in each town will have the opportunity to see the cars up close and are urged to donate to this worthy cause.
The event is designed to suit novice and experienced drivers, testing their off-road terrain driving skills all while raising money for Kidney Health Australia's annual Kidney Kids Camp and youth programs.
"What the Kidney Kar Rally is mainly about is fundraising for the Kidney Kids camps," Mr Ward said.
"That's a camp where the kids can go without their parents and they have their mobile dialysis machines with them and they have a nurse go with them and that helps pay for the nurses and accommodation."
