There were six new cases for Bathurst in the 24 hours to 8pm on Thursday, the NSW Government says, which takes the city's active case total to 27.
Member for Bathurst Paul Toole reported, however, that five cases are linked and are household contacts and only one case was infectious in the community - and that was for a small amount of time.
The six new cases for Bathurst followed no new cases being announced for the city in the previous 24 hours and just the one new case being announced in the 24 hours before that.
The NSW Government's 11am update said there were 53 new cases in the Western NSW Local Health District, more than double the 23 new cases of the previous 24 hours.
Of those, there were 31 at Dubbo and 11 at Bourke.
Member for Bathurst Paul Toole said there were 735 COVID tests in Bathurst in the 24-hour reporting period - down on the 960 of the previous day.
Across NSW, there were 1431 new locally acquired cases of COVID and 12 deaths, which included a man in his 90s from the Blue Mountains who died at the Hawkesbury Living Aged Care Facility.
NSW Health said there were 160 COVID cases in intensive care in the state's hospitals, of whom 63 were on ventilation.
Deputy Premier John Barilaro made particular mention of Parkes for increasing its first dose vaccination rate from 36 per cent to 66.5 per cent in just over seven days.
