The Bathurst resident has signed up the Go Big Challenge, which asks participants to commit to walk, run or roll a distance of their choice over two weeks.
Participants set up a fundraising page and invite people to make a donation, with all money going to the Starlight Foundation, a charity that aims to brighten the lives of sick kids and their families.
ALSO MAKING NEWS:
The charity's mission to make sick kids smile was a big part of Ms Morpurgusan's decision to participate in the challenge.
"Every year I try to participate in a fundraiser and this year I'm participating in the Go Big Challenge for the Starlight Foundation. It involves me walking 150 kilometres between November 15 and 28," she said.
"I think it's a really important cause because it's raising money for kids in hospital and stopping that idea that hospitals are a scary place.
"I just really wanted to do something to get community together, raise money for kids, to make sure that they're not scared. I think it's a good thing to do."
The Go Big Challenge won't be a walk in the park for Ms Morpurgusan.
The 25-year-old admits that her fitness level is low, and she intentionally committed to a distance that she knew would be tough.
"I will absolutely struggle with it," she said.
"I just wanted to do something big because I've always tried to raise money for charities, but I've never been really successful, so I thought this time I would go all out."
She plans to clock up her kilometres around the Bathurst CBD and other high-traffic areas, so people can see that she is sticking to her 150-kilometre goal.
People can support her efforts by making a donation through her fundraising page.
She wanted to raise a minimum of $1000, a figure she has now exceeded, but she hopes she will be able to raise well above that number.
