The event will be open to Business Chamber members and the general public. It will present an opportunity to hear from those seeking election to Bathurst Regional Council, and for informal discussions at the conclusion of the formal part of the evening.
The event will be moderated by Bathurst Business Chamber President, Catherine Fitzsimons.
"The long delayed Council elections on December 4 come at a critical time for Bathurst, following years of drought, the bushfires and pandemic, which have disrupted the way businesses, families and local government operate," she said.
ALSO MAKING NEWS:
"It also presents enormous opportunities for regional cities, and for businesses and economic growth in the regions. The business community is keen to hear from the election candidates in relation to their business and economic priorities for the region."
Ms Fitzsimons said the issues of importance to the business community include economic growth opportunities, diversification of the economy, job creation, infrastructure, attracting and retaining essential services, water security and growing and promoting the visitor economy.
She said with a large field of candidates from diverse backgrounds, experience and views, it is important for voters to know what policies each has, particularly around these important issues.
"The Bathurst Business Chamber is hopeful that all Councillors elected will have a focus and understanding of the economic divers for Bathurst and how the Council can work with the business community to accelerate the economic growth of the region.
The large field of prospective councillors means that due to time constraints the event will be question and answer style, with questions from the moderator.
There will be an opportunity for people to speak to candidates once questions have concluded.
Those attending must register (for free) online and provide evidence of double vaccination for access to the venue.
