With ever-changing COVID restrictions delaying the performance by 12 months, director Bronni Colley is looking forward to the show finally taking place.
Mrs Colley commended the whole team and their families for sticking by the musical for such a long time and said everyone's starting to get excited now.
"It's been a really difficult time for them but they've stayed positive and they've made good friendships through it, and they're really keen to put it on," she said.
"We originally started it last March [2020] but we've changed it that many times, we re-choreographed and re-costumed, so it's been exhausting for everyone involved.
"It's been crazy and hectic and continually changing for them but it's a good show; it's fun, it's colourful ... so we're hoping people come and support us."
The show will also feature the famous flying car itself, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, which will arrive in Bathurst next week.
Mrs Colley said the kids were really looking forwarded to seeing how it works.
The Beau Brown Pavilion at Bathurst Showground is set to host the musical from December 15 to December 19 with a range of timeslots to suit everyone.
Tickets can be purchased via Eventbrite, www.cjts.com.au or the Carillon Junior Theatrical Society's Facebook page.
Mrs Colley thanked everyone involved for their on-going support and hopes the Bathurst community gets behind the event come opening night.
