The storm clouds parted for the industry's most prestigious event and the club's chief executive officer Danny Dwyer was very pleased with how the night turned out.
"It was a really good night, definitely one of the best we've had," he said.
"It got really muggy around lunch time and I thought 'it's going to storm this afternoon and stop people from coming', and that just really destroys the preparation that you've done to get people there.
"We were fortunate enough that [the storm] didn't come."
The Inter Dominion series is the pinnacle of Australasian harness racing and the local club was thrilled to be involved.
The nine-race program saw $250,000 distributed between runners, and the high level of talent didn't disappoint.
"The quality of the horses makes the times go faster but it certainly showed the track was in good order and that's good too moving forward to some bigger races later in the year as well," he said.
The event was one of the biggest mid-week meetings Mr Dwyer can recall the club having and estimates anywhere from 600 to 800 people attended.
The series is run on rotation between the Australian states and New Zealand, but Mr Dwyer hopes that when it returns to NSW the local club will be afforded the chance to be involved again.
"I think we delivered it pretty well so fingers crossed we get the opportunity to run it again," he said.
Now the club is looking ahead to their annual Boxing Day meeting, and Mr Dwyer is hoping to attract some Inter Dominion runners who don't make the final back to the local track.
