For the first three Sundays in January and on Australia Day, the venue will host afternoon high teas from 2.30pm, and on every Wednesday from December 29 to January 19, children and their families will be invited for a torchlight walk of the premises from 7.30pm to 8.45pm.
Abercrombie House owner Christopher Morgan said the high teas and tours are all part of a means to capitalise on the immense local and tourist interest in the region projected over the summer holidays.
"The accommodation sector across the region appears to be heavily booked across the New Year and January period, which is the indicator all tourism operators use to determine what visitation will be like," Mr Morgan said.
"Because of the amount of people enquiring about special events at Abercrombie House, we decided to make these high teas and night tours a regular occurrence throughout January."
Mr Morgan said the night tours will open up more of Abercrombie House than ever before.
"We've always done night tours for children in the school holidays, but this time there will be more rooms, such as the basement areas, for visitors to view and appreciate," he said.
"They're not ghost tours, rather historical tours where children can learn about the significant of this house to the Bathurst community via torchlight."
While acknowledging the continued risk of COVID-19, Mr Morgan said another lockdown would prove devastating for the tourism industry.
"I read a harrowing statistic that during the last lockdown, a third of all Australian tourism operators shut down and will not reopen; if that had happened to any other industry, it would've been a national crisis," he said.
"We have to have faith in vaccinations, mask-wearing and practicing good hygiene, it's the best advice we have to manage COVID."
Tickets for high tea events cost $50 per adult, $48 for seniors and $30 for children under 14, while tickets to the night tours cost $15 per person.
