After stringing together a number of placings and notching up a PB at her previous start, I'm Big Deal was able to snag her maiden victory on Monday, and Wort was quietly confident she could.
"She went good last week, she ran second so I thought if she run up to that she's in with a chance," the Woodstock-based trainer said.
"She had a good box and that helps."
Beginning one of the fancied runners out of barrier two, I'm Big Deal left the box with a spring in her step and shot straight to the front.
From there she never looked in trouble, able to cross the line 2.5 metres ahead of her closest rival, the Kylie McDonald-trained Fusion Bliss (6).
Stopping the clock at 17.87 seconds, Wort was happy with his runner and plans to make the one-hour trip to Bathurst again next week.
"[I'll] just work her through the grades and hope she stays sound and everyone's happy," he said.
With 10 dogs in his kennel, I'm Big Deal was one of four runners Wort brought to Bathurst, with bitch Scottie Mick also doing well in the final event on the card to run second.

Jumping nicely from the inside box, Scotty Mick landed in second place where she remained for the entirety of the race, taking her career tally to one win and three placings from only seven starts.
