POLICE say a man has been arrested after an assault at a Bathurst shopping centre this week and anyone who saw the incident is being asked to come forward.

According to Chifley Police, officers were called to Bathurst City Centre at about 2pm on Tuesday and found a 53-year-old man with "significant injuries to the face" being treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics.
He was taken to Bathurst Hospital for further treatment.
Police say the men involved in the incident are not known to each other.

Just after 11am on Wednesday, according to Chifley Police, following inquiries, officers attended an address in Bathurst and arrested a 23-year-old man.
He was charged with reckless grievous bodily harm and was refused bail to appear before Bathurst Local Court today.
Police are appealing to anyone who saw the incident within the Bathurst City Centre at about 1.30pm on Tuesday (January 4) to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or Bathurst Police Station on 6332 8699.
