NEW COVID cases in the Bathurst Regional local government area pushed past 100 in the latest reporting period, but hospitalisations in the Western NSW Local Health District dropped.

Orange and Dubbo Regional had accounted for the most cases in the health district for some time, but it was Bathurst Regional that had the second-highest number of cases in the 24 hours to 8pm on Wednesday.
Bathurst Regional had 120 new cases of the health district's 524 new cases (which was only slightly up on the 501 cases from the 24 hours before).
Dubbo Regional had 186 new cases and Orange 78.
Oberon had one new case and Blayney local government area 10.
COVID case hospitalisations in the health district jumped from 13 to 16 in the 24 hours to 8pm on Tuesday, with two of those cases in ICU.
The number of COVID cases in hospital across the health district dropped to 15 in the latest reporting period, however, with two still in ICU.
IN OTHER NEWS AROUND BATHURST:
The health district says confirmed COVID cases remain high across the region, "but it's likely there are more undiagnosed cases in our communities".
Across NSW, in the 24 hours to 8pm on Wednesday, there were 34,994 new COVID cases, which was down slightly on the previous 24 hours, and six deaths, according to NSW Health - five men and one woman.
Two were from the Lake Macquarie area, three from western Sydney, and one from the ACT.
IN OTHER NEWS AROUND BATHURST:
NSW Health says there are 1609 COVID-19 cases admitted to hospital in the state, up by 118 on the previous day, and 131 people in intensive care, up by 12 on the previous day.
Of those, 38 require ventilation, which is up by six on the previous day.
Western NSW Local Health District is urging those in the region to have a plan for how they will isolate if they get COVID.
