Held over Wednesday and Thursday, the children were tasked with making a play from start to finish over two days, with family and friends invited to attend the finished product on the final afternoon.
Lead workshop facilitator Nel Kentish said it took the children a mere half-hour on the first day to come up with the concept of the play, which involved a royal family, burglars, police and a 'play within a play.'
"These children have brought so much magic to these workshops, it's been truly wonderful," Ms Kentish said.
"Sometimes all it takes is stepping into a costume to bring another character to life, and it certainly broke the ice among this group, many of whom had never met."
Ms Kentish said the workshops will hopefully run during all school holiday periods in 2022.
"We will also be running term one drama classes at BMEC on Mondays and Tuesdays for ages five to 15, which will commence from January 31" she said.
