The gym’s 24 Hour Treadmill Challenge will raise money for Suicide Prevention Australia and participates can pay $15 to run, jog or walk on the treadmill for just 15 minutes (or for longer).
Money has already been raised and sport teams have got involved and its still not too late to register according to Anytime Fitness Bathurst manager Karly McDonald.
“Everyone has been touched by suicide or mental health, so this fundraiser is a great way to show your support for Suicide Prevention,” she said.
“What better way to do that then getting on the treadmill.
“Exercise and mental health are both related, as exercise makes you happy and releases endorphins.”
In order to raise more money, the gym will host a pilates class on Saturday morning at 9.30am.
The treadmill challenge is apart of Anytime Fitness Australia’s nation wide Suicide Prevention fundraiser.
Participants can register to partake in the treadmill challenge at https://treadtogether.gofundraise.com.au/.
Participants do not need to be a member of Anytime Fitness or be seriously fit.
