From Thursday through to Sunday, hundreds of entrants will be driving laps of the iconic circuit in a range of vehicles, from the Mini Cooper to the Lamborghini.
Both amateur and professional drivers are there for the experience.
If you’ve never spent much time at the Mount for major events, Parade thinks Challenge Bathurst could be a great introduction.
Spectators are welcome to attend over the course of the four days, with there being no entry free.
Anyone who would like to attend can leave their vehicle in Harris Park and walk over to the track.
For more information about the event and scheduling, visit the Challenge Bathurst website.
FAMILY EVENT TO CELEBRATE KIDS
HAVE you got a child starting kindergarten in 2019?
If the answer is yes, then you should make a point of going to the Bathurst Child and Family Network’s (BCFN) School Starters Picnic on Friday afternoon.
Parade understands that this is the second time that the organisation has held the picnic, so clearly it proved to be a great event last year.
Parents and other family members are invited to bring their future kindy kids down to the Adventure Playground from 4.30pm to enjoy the afternoon of activities.
Books will also be given away to the first 100 children registered, so it’s worth swinging by the registration table when you arrive.
The picnic is free and every child there starting school next year will get a certificate to mark the milestone.
Activities will conclude at 6.30pm.
Returning to the dry times
BATHURST has seen a couple of days of rain this week, but that’s all set to disappear.
According to the Bureau of Meteorology, there is very little chance of rain until Wednesday.
Does anyone know a good rain dance?
