The result remained in the balance over a close opening half but the hosts ran away with the contest at Proctor Park following the break.
Macquarie's victory is a huge boost for the club as a three-way battle for the remaining finals position looks ready to intensify even further.
Panorama, Eglinton and CSU have virtually wrapped the top three positions but Macquarie, Millthorpe Tigers and Mudgee Wolves all have their sights set on fourth spot.
Macquarie coach Andrew Speed said there's pivotal matches on the horizon for the club.
"We have a double header coming up against Millthorpe in two weeks," he said.
"That could be the key for us, but Mudgee aren't too far away either. It's definitely going to come down to those last couple of rounds."

Macquarie didn't have everything their way in Sunday's game despite what the score would tell you.
The women in orange were forced to work hard for a 2-1 half-time advantage.
However, the legs grew tireder throughout a Cowra squad with no substitutions and Macquarie took full advantage.
Macquarie began to create more opportunities on goal and their finishing was up to the same quality as the build up play.
Speed said execution was top notch from his side, who cut down on wastefulness with the ball.
"We ran over them close to the end. I'm very pleased with how the girls played. They passed really well and played possession football," Speed said.
"We played out wide and managed to get around Cowra to create a few shots on goal.
"The game plan we started with was the one we ended with. We did have a couple of players playing out of position, with a couple of players heading away, but the girls went well with that."

Macquarie's young talent has continued to develop well against more experienced opponents this year, and they've handled the pressure well.
"Three of our players finished with two goals and Hannah Cross had a great game at sweeper, playing her first game there. She was very strong in the back line," Speed said.
"Well over half the team is under 15 so we're a very young development squad."
Macquarie have a testing game against second-placed Eglinton this Sunday before their back-to-back meetings with the Tigers.
