MAGISTRATE Roger Prowse has imposed an interim apprehended violence order (AVO) on Michael Griffiths, of Havannah Street, requiring him to avoid contact with deputy mayor Bobby Bourke.
Cr Bourke applied for an AVO against Mr Griffiths after an alleged altercation in a Bathurst newsagency on August 8.
The pair appeared at Bathurst Local Court on Monday, but the matter was adjourned to August 26.

While the interim order is in place, Mr Griffiths is not allowed to stalk, harass, intimidate or damage the property of Cr Bourke.
He is also not to approach or contact Cr Bourke unless through a lawyer.
