HIS training base might have changed, but the form of Peter Stanley's five-year-old mare The Long Run certainly hasn't.

She just keeps producing and is the current star of Stanley's 14-horse team.
After enjoying a win with The Long Run at Tyers Park on December 16, Stanley shifted his operation from Bathurst to Narromine.
On Monday The Long Run had her first start since that move when lining up in a Benchmark 66 Handicap at Dubbo. With Stanley's daughter-jockey Ashleigh Stanley in the saddle, the fast-starting and finishing mare saluted once more.
Ashleigh Stanley took the race by the reins on the final turn of the 1,400 metre gallop, shifting to take the inside line with the $2.30 favourite from Peter Cornish's Athena's Voice.
The Long Run and Athena's Voice ($11) then showed off their speed in a battle with the Matthew Cahill ridden Petain ($3.40), but it soon became evident which of those three runners had the most left when it came to the run home.
It was Stanley's Olympus x Kindilan mare.

In what has become her trademark kick, The Long Run put nearly two full lengths between herself and Petain by the time they passed the finishing post, followed closely by Cornish's Athena's Voice in third.
It was the fourth win in The Long Run's last six starts, that streak also including a second placing at Narromine and a fourth at Mudgee as she found the line well after sitting in seventh with 400m to go.
Stanley also enjoyed a third placing in the 1,000m Maiden Handicap with the Grant Buckley ridden Twice The Value ($5.50).
Twice The Value, another five-year-old mare, surged from fifth at the 400m mark to finish just over two lengths behind victor Bellszov Bourke ($2.60 favourite).
Stanley has nominated The Long Run and Twice The Value, as well as stablemate Cloudless Sky for Gilgandra's meeting on Sunday.
The Long Run is one of 16 runners nominated for the feature Gilgandra Cup, a $37,000 race which will be battled out over 1,600m. Stanley's other pair are nominated for maidens.
