The shutdown has allowed the RSL Club to carry out a complete deep clean of the venue's carpets, as well as arrange upgrades for the kitchen's extractor fan and refrigeration systems in the Diggers Bar.
RSL Club general manager Peter Sargent said these projects would be difficult to carry out during normal operations.
"Our carpets are deep cleaned every six months but because of the shutdown, we've been able to expand the job beyond main traffic areas," Mr Sargent said.
"The logistics of arranging the fan and refrigeration upgrades would normally be difficult to schedule, but the time off has allowed us to act on these vital projects."
Mr Sargent said there are also plans to renovate bathroom facilities between the courtyard and gaming room.
"We've submitted a DA to Bathurst Regional Council, which has been put to tender, and we're hopeful the work will be carried out during the shutdown," he said.
Mr Sargent said the club is seeking eligibility for the federal government's Job Keeper wage subsidy scheme, but has already started to pay their staff before the scheme's scheduled rollout next month.
"We've also provided all our staff with $250 Buy Local cards to further assist them with expenses," he said.
"It's been a tough time for us, but we're taking it day by day and our staff are staying in touch online."
"We're missing our staff and patrons, but we're working hard to have the club ready for when we return."
