The last time Collegians played in the grand final was in 2008, when Josh Esparon and Andrew McGrath scored a goal each in their side's 2-1
Collegians didn't get the ideal start to the match when Young got the first goal of the game in the first 10 minutes.

But with just over 60 seconds remaining in the first half, Collegians opened their goal-scoring account when McGrath fed the ball from the midfield to a flying Esparon, who was able to get the ball past the keeper to level the scores for the home team.
It was a confidence killer for the Young side to concede right on the stroke of half-time while Collegians came out stronger after the break.
After the break, Collegians began to get the ascendency but Young held on grimly in defence and were able to keep the defending champions out.
With 15 minutes to go in the game, Collegians found the net to give them the lead for the first time in the game.
McGrath was able to get to a cross from Martin Timms that had deflected off a defender and put it in from close range to make the score 2-1 and from then, Collegians didn't look back.
It was the club's third consecutive title and fourth grand final win in five years.
Collegians play Abercrombie Navy from 5pm in Sunday's grand final.
