The new Kmart store replaces the old Target outlet, with workers busy since its closure on Saturday, October 10, to refurbish the 3875 square metre space.
Kmart Bathurst store manager Lisa Morrison said it's exciting to have the new Bathurst store open.

"It's good for the community and it's good to see all these people down," she said.
Parent company Wesfarmers announced in May that a number of its Target outlets would be converted to Kmarts before confirming in July that the Bathurst store was among those to be impacted.
Armada Shopping Centre manager Sandy Matthews said the new Kmart store will provide a massive boost to the entire centre and the Bathurst community.
"There's been a lot of good feedback locally from shoppers, as well as people from surrounding towns," she said.
"There's been good feedback from social media pages too and retailers are really excited to have [Kmart] on board.
"It's going to bring a lot to the shopping centre and the customers."
Ms Matthews believes the new Kmart store will attract shoppers from other towns and cities.
"I have heard some feedback from the Lithgow shoppers that they would either go to Penrith or Orange. So they're excited that they've got a shop a lot closer," she said.
"It's a one-stop shopping centre for them. A lot of them come here for shopping anyway."
It's busy and exciting times for the Armada Shopping Centre with Kmart opening its doors, but also OPSM launching a new store in the past week and Top to Toe Nails and Donut King set reopen next month following refurbishment work.
Ms Matthews said the centre has come through the coronavirus pandemic in a strong position.
"We've been pretty lucky that the COVID situation hasn't affected a lot of our shops," she said.
"Obviously we had one shut down because of it - Suzanne Grae - but a lot of their stores across their lines are closing down."
"I think the centre, in its current environment, has come out the other side very strong."
Kmart will be open from 8am-8pm from Saturday to Wednesday, and slightly latter from 8am-10pm on Thursday and Friday.
Kmart will then be open from 8am-12am everyday starting on Monday, November 30, and will keep the hours right up until Christmas Eve.
