The defending T20 Royal Hotel Cup champions will welcome St Pat's Old Boys to Wade Park for a grand final rematch on Friday night.

And even though the stakes are high in this elimination finals contest, Cavaliers' spinner Mitch Black is confident his men can buck their recent losing trend.

Across both the BOIDC and T20 competition, Matt Corben's men haven't won a match since December 5 but the morale's still fairly high.

"We're doing all the right things at training," Black said.

"It's not any different, there's just one or two things not clicking.

"We've got the team there to do it and last year we never had any problems like this."

The last time these two sides clashed was in the one-day format on January 9 as the Bathurst bunch smashed the Cavs by six wickets.

What does this outcome do for Black's mentality leading into Friday night's tilt? Eases the pressure.

"They towelled us up last time we played so we've just got to go out there and enjoy ourselves," he said.

"We've got no pressure on us, we've just got to play with a no fear mentality."

Black thinks 140 is around a par score for Wade Park and would love for his troops to be able to set that total right out of the gate.

"That total would be hard to chase," he said.

"I like going out and setting that rather than having to chase it but that's up to Corbs (Matt Corben) if he wins the toss."

As for what the opposition does well, Black circled a key man.

"Nick Broes is their marquee man," he said.

"He's pretty handy. For us as bowlers, we just want to bowl to where we want them to hit the ball."

While a BOIDC title is the most sought after trophy in the region, Black spoke up about his side's desires to 'win everything'.

"As first graders. that competitiveness comes out," he said.

"Having the trophy for being the best T20 squad in the region is something we want.

"It's always good to have the bragging rights. This competitions gives a lot of blokes who don't always play have a bit of fun."

Cavaliers have had huge success in the T20 competition since its inception and Black thinks that's due to the side's consistency across the board.

"We've got a lot of all-rounders," he said.

"There's plenty of us who can both bath and bowls. We've got some gun fielders who can stop those ones from going to twos.

"We bat to 11."

Friday's first ball is at 6.30pm.
