The star Kiwi will tackle double duties at Mount Panorama over the Easter weekend.
He will join Shane Smollen and Rob Rubis in a BMW M4 expected to compete for outright honours in the Bathurst 6 Hour and tackle a pair of races as part of the GT World Challenge Australia.
While he is still recovering from a mountain bike crash which saw him having to undergo surgery to repair a broken collarbone - a plate and nine screws required - plus three broken ribs he sustained in a shunt at Sandown, van Gisbergen is very much a man in form.
His win in last year's Bathurst 1000 as well as claiming the chequered flag in both 250 kilometre races that comprised the Bathurst 500 in February are part of his current six consecutive race wins Supercars streak.
If van Gisbergen can win Sunday's 6 Hour, he will join Paul Morris in having clinched the Bathurst 'triple crown' of enduros given his Great Race triumph last year and 12 Hour victory in 2016.
"It goes without saying that after winning the Bathurst 1000 and the 12-Hour it would be a great achievement to be the second ever to win the triple crown. Hopefully he has the car and the supporting drivers to do it," team owner Smollen said.
But he will be just as hungry for success in the GT World Challenge Australia after the collarbone injury forced him to miss the opening round of that series in early March.
The 31-year-old will team-up with Prince Jefri Ibrahim in Triple Eight's Mercedes Benz AMG GT3.
"I'm really excited to get back into our GT car," van Gisbergen said.
"Unfortunately I missed the first round in Phillip Island, but any time you get to drives laps around Bathurst is awesome, especially in a GT car which is always cool.
"I've been working a fair bit with Iman [Ibrahim], especially on the simulator and track days at Norwell Motorplex, and even did some races with other cars on track so he can got a feel for everything.
"There's nothing you can do to prepare yourself for Bathurst other than race laps, which is going to be the hardest thing."
The first hour-long GT race will be on Saturday (2.15pm), with the other to follow Sunday (8.50am) while the 6 Hour starts at 11.15am.
