The gig, scheduled for Friday, May 28 at Little Albert, will feature performances by Bill Browne, Kris Schubert, Chloe and Jason Roweth, Mark Adams, Jim Driscoll and more Dylan devotees.
Proceeds from ticket sales will be donated to the Daffodil Wig Library to assist people experiencing hair loss through cancer treatment, alopecia or related illnesses.
Browne, who helped organise the event, said Dylan's music, poetry and art has inspired countless generations of creativity.
"Dylan's still on his 'never-ending' tour, having played nearly 4000 shows: more than The Beatles and The Rolling Stones combined," he said.
"Jason Roweth and I decided we needed some sort of local event to celebrate Dylan's 80th birthday, which has brought us to this point, and it turns out there's a number of Dylan aficionados around Bathurst."
Bob Dylan will celebrate his 80th birthday on May 24.
Schubert, who has previously performed Dylan's 1976 album Desire as a classic album event, said it's impossible to limit his legacy to one particular song or album.
"All the musicians I know hold him up as an iconic character and songwriter," he said.
"The real challenge of paying tribute to Dylan is picking a setlist that doesn't go all day."
Browne said Dylan's multifaceted legacy will be evident in the songs selected for the event.
"Every musician involved has sent me their choices, and of the 32 songs chosen, there's been only one double-up," he said.
"If I had to choose, 'Like A Rolling Stone' would be my favourite Dylan tune: singing along to the song on the radio got me thrown out of a Greek cafe as a 19-year-old!
"We're also proud to be assisting the Daffodil Wig Library. The initiative is run by two of my closest friends and it's such a great cause."
Other famous songs penned by Dylan include 'Blowin' in the Wind', 'Hurricane', 'Subterranean Homesick Blues' and 'Knockin' on Heaven's Door.'
