As of Monday, the eight contestants had collectively raised $44,818, with each contestant raising over $2000 individually.
Stars of Bathurst contestant Greg Cross further propped up the total last Saturday with a six-hour endurance cycling test at Bathurst City Centre, with fellow contestant Nathan Pearce also taking part.
"We had six wonderful cyclists join in for an hour each on the day, and the event raised another $1200 for NSW Cancer Council; it was another fantastic success," Mr Cross said.
"The challenge wasn't as tough as I expected, as interactions with shoppers and fellow cyclists helped pass the time."
Along with Mr Pearce, Mr Cross was also joined by Mark Renshaw, Kirsten Howard, Tim Roebuck and Jennifer Arnold, with the training equipment provided by Renshaw's Pedal Project.
Mr Cross, who has so far raised $8221 on his own, said the overall result of the Stars of Bathurst fundraiser highlights the fine effort of all contestants.
"We're all collectively working towards the same cause: to finance cancer research, prevention and support: and everyone has made a stellar contribution to the total," he said.
"Here's hoping we can push the grand total over $50,000 by Saturday."
Mr Pearce, who has also crossed the $8000 mark, is also hopeful the fundraiser will push over $50,000 by Saturday.
"The community has been incredibly generous this year, we've been blown away," he said.
"It sure give us plenty of optimism going into Saturday."
Mr Pearce said he's thoroughly enjoyed the Stars of Bathurst experience, and looks forward to finishing off in style on the weekend.
"It's the furthest out of my comfort zone I've travelled in quite some time, but Lucinda and Mikaela at Dance Dynamic Bathurst have been really patient teaching me the routine," he said.
"From someone who doesn't know how to dance, I'm feeling optimistic about this weekend."
Stars of Bathurst Dance for Cancer will take place at Bathurst Goldfields this Saturday from 6pm.
