Western coach Mark Rooke was critical of his team's first-half performance but said there was considerable improvement in the second half.
"To be honest, our first-half performance was well below par," he said.
"The first half wasn't up to scratch and we gave away four of the easiest goals you'll see in your life. It was extremely disappointing, based on what we said before the game and how we prepared.

"We were much better in the second half and we actually made them work for their goals. To be honest, we should've had two of our own in the second half but we just didn't have the finish on our chances."
Western found itself down 6-1 at half-time, with the Jets - who serves as a youth development team to the A-League team - finding another four goals in the second half.
Rooke said his team needs to be more comfortable on the ball going forward.
"We just need to be comfortable on the ball, not giving it away so easily," he said.
"They were very sharp and very good, there's no doubt at it. You can see where they are in the competition.
"They train five days a week, all they do is play football. We're in a very different spot to where they are."
Rooke did acknowledge the effort of Ryan Campbell, who's been a standout for the team in recent weeks.
"Ryan Campbell was exceptional. He's been fantastic for the past few weeks, as our number nine," he said.
Western will be next in action against Nepean FC on Saturday at Charles Sturt University's Diggings Oval, the first time the team will play there, the first of three games to be played at the venue during the last seven rounds of the competition.
"We were looking to work with CSU, to do a few things for the area. We've decided we're going to play a few games at CSU and start something up there," he said.
"It will be good to play somewhere different in town, as we look to get a home ground."
