Member for Bathurst Paul Toole has announced that a new pop-up vaccination clinic will be established at the Kelso Community Hub, allowing people to walk in and get their shots.

The clinic will only offer Pfizer and can vaccinate around 200 people per day.

People can visit the hub from 12pm to 4pm Monday, and then 10am to 4pm daily until Friday. They will need to bring a form of identification and, where able, their Medicare card.

"The idea of setting it up in Kelso is providing greater opportunities in the community to come forward and get vaccinated, and realising there are members of the community that find it difficult to have to travel across to the centre of Bathurst to get vaccinated," Mr Toole said.

Those who attend the Kelso Community Hub will not only get their COVID-19 vaccine, but will also receive products from McDonald's.

Todd Bryant, the owner of the Bathurst and Kelso McDonald's stores, has come on board with the offer to try to encourage more people to get vaccinated.

"The faster we can get the tallies to where the government want it, the better we can enjoy the freedoms. It's about reopening regional NSW," he said.

"We're going to offer McDonald's products to those that come up and getting vaccinated at the Kelso clinic.

"... It's all about the community."

Councillor Warren Aubin helped to get the initiative started, after calling Mr Bryant, a friend of his, for a catch up.

It led to a discussion about how to promote vaccination in the community, and from there the idea to provide a little incentive through the local McDonald's stores was born.

"It's support, but also incentive for people to come and get vaccinated, because that's what this is all about, getting people to get vaccinated," Cr Aubin said.

"It's imperative for us. This is the pathway out of lockdown and we've to got to get these people vaccinated, that's what it's all about, and these guys are providing that incentive to get people out there."
