Mitchell Conservatorium [MitCon] made the decision last year to move the long-running event to the Tremain's precinct in order to stage the event in a controlled environment under a COVID-safe plan.
But unlike last year, tickets will be free [but still need to be booked online], the capacity has increased to 500 people and singing and dancing is now permitted outdoors.
Outgoing MitCon executive director Graham Sattler, who will host the event alongside his successor, Andrew Smith, said it will serve as both a cheery community gathering and a public gesture of handover.
"Even though we're again under COVID restrictions, we are feeling positive it's a step back towards the Carols of old," Dr Sattler said.
"It's an important community get-together at the end of each year, but we're thrilled that the Tremain's Mill precinct has served as such an ideal alternative venue during COVID times."
"The event is all about MitCon musicians and entertainers performing with the community."
Mr Smith, who will also serve as musical director at the Carols, said the event will serve as the first major post-lockdown live music event for an audience in the hundreds.
"The Carols will be a big part of the gradual return of major community events across Bathurst," he said.
"We don't quite know what will happen in 2022, but I'd like to think we'll be able to get back to Machattie Park by then and give the community a careful, COVID-safe equivalent of what the event was in the past."
Carols at Tremain's will take place on Sunday, December 12 from 7pm, with Reliance Bank to once again serve as main sponsor, and the event will also be live-streamed free to YouTube.
