Cr North is leading a ticket of five candidates, with Lauren Sheraton, Bruce Walker, Emileah Cossu and Steve Ingwersen backing his bid for re-election.
A proud Bathurst boy, he wants to continue to serve the community he loves.
"I love this region so much, it's people and what it means to me," he said.
"I've still got a lot more I want to do. I know I'm still relevant to the community and its needs, and I know I've got the ability to get things done."
After becoming mayor in July, Cr North is hoping that, if re-elected, he will get the chance to continue in the role for the next term.
"I will definitely be running for mayor. A number of people have said they would like to see me there, which is really good," he said.
"There are definitely things I want to change on this council that have frustrated me for years and I'm slowly working on that."

Among his priorities for the next term are supporting the Bathurst Integrated Medical Centre, securing Bathurst's water, and working with other levels of government to improve roads into and around the region.
"That also includes the second river crossing," Cr North said.
He also wants to progress a number of other projects council is working on currently, including the Bathurst Town Centre Master Plan, the future of the former TAFE and ambulance station sites, and sustainability projects.
"Council is always looking at the Renewable Energy Action Plan, and we're looking at our solar and what other sustainable energies there are," he said.
Cr North has built a solid team around him for his re-election campaign, but he also hopes that the community will consider electing the other people on his ticket.
Ms Sheraton, the number two on the ticket, is a local solicitor with strong ties in the community.
"She is a very quiet achiever that is involved in sport around town, has been involved in committees. I've become good friends with her over the years and we just got talking about council and she clearly has a passion to do more," Cr North said.
The number three, Mr Walker, is a former first-grade National Rugby League player who moved to Bathurst about two years ago after falling in love with the region.
Fourth and fifth on the ticket, Ms Cossu and Mr Ingwersen, who work as a real estate agent and a tradie respectively, and are both passionate about Bathurst.
"I'm really proud of the team I've got," Cr North said.
